Nowadays, there are few new vehicles not equipped with plastic bushings
In addition to the technical benefits that polymer materials have to offer, they also cost less due to their integrated lubricating capacity and the fact they are injection molded.

Engine compartments: variable air intake manifolds, EGR (exhaust gas re-circulation), belt tensioner, throttle body valves)
All iglide® plastics are recyclable and meet current End Life Vehicle (ELV) regulations. No materials contain forbidden or controlled substances, such as the lead found in many metal-backed bearings. Additionally, the injection molding process means no external coatings or substances are used or required.
